Cyber Weekend at Kelby Training

If you are looking for a website that has excellent tutorials on all things Photoshop, Lightroom, and Photography (with other topics as well), I highly recommend Kelby Training (www.kelbytraining.com).  I’ve learned a ton of stuff from their excellent instructors.  Currently, I’m working on improving my Photoshop skills, which I’ll discuss in other posts.

This Friday though Monday, Kelby Training will be having their annual Cyber Weekend sale.  If you are thinking about joining, this is a great time to do so, as the subscriptions are up to 40% off.  Also, consider joining their sister site, the National Association of Photoshop professionals, that also has great information, plus 10 issues of “Photoshop User” magazine every year.

I have several instructors that I really like at Kelby Training, including Scott Kelby, Matt Koskowski, Ben Willmore, Moose Peterson, Bill Fortney, Corey Baker, Dave Black, Dave Cross, David Ziser, Jack Reznicki, Joe McNally, Larry Becker, Lindsay Adler, Pete Collins, Peter Hurley, RC Concepcion, Rick Sammon, and Tim Wallace.  I’m sure there are several that I’m forgetting, but I have fond memories of watching each of these instructors’ classes and trying their techniques.  For example, Matt Koskowski’s classes on Lightroom really helped me to understand the concepts that Lightroom uses and the techniques to get the most from it.

I’m now focusing on Photoshop and just finished two classes by Ben Willmore on Curves in Photoshop that gives me many more tools in the toolbox.  To give you an example about how in-depth the classes are, one of them was about 1.5 hours and the other about 2 hours.  However, it took me about twice as long for each class because I had Photoshop open on my second monitor and was trying the techniques as Ben described them.  Overall, I learned a ton of new information.

So, if you’re interested in getting more in-depth with photography, I highly recommend Kelby Training and NAPP.
