Tartia-Engel Falls

Tartia-Engel Falls

Tartia-Engel Falls in the Autumn, 2011

In the fall of last year, I was on a tear photographing waterfalls.  I posted several of them, but after awhile, this website was beginning to look like a “Waterfall Blog”, so I gave the waterfalls a little rest.  But now it’s time to post a few more.

Tartia-Engel Falls in East Hampton, Connecticut doesn’t have a large drop, but it’s a very picturesque falls.  It’s also right by a secondary road, so it’s very easy to reach (once you get to East Hampton, which is a little out of the way for me, anyway).  I spent quite a bit of time here just enjoying the scenery and the multiple falls (although I never figured out for sure which falls was Engel and which was Tartia).

If you are interested in finding out more about this waterfall or many other New England Waterfalls, check out the book “New England Waterfalls:  A Guide to More than 400 Cascades and Waterfalls“.
