Downy Woodpecker in the winter

A Downy Woodpecker enjoys the nice winter weather

Today at lunch, I was taking a few photos before heading back to work and was able to capture a few shots of this male Downy Woodpecker (at least I think it’s a Downy and not a Hairy Woodpecker). ┬áHe was taking seeds from the bird feeder and hammering them into the tree bark. ┬áThis was taken with the Canon 7D and 300 mm f/4 lens with a 1.4 teleconverter.
