Fly Fisherman at Short Beach

Fly Fisherman at Short Beach Park, Stratford, Connecticut

Fly Fisherman at Short Beach Park, Stratford, Connecticut

This past weekend, I visited Short Beach, which is a town park in Stratford, Connecticut.  It’s located close to the mouth of the Housatonic River and is one of the nicest town parks you will find.

The photo above is taken at the northern end of the park looking out on a navigational structure and a fly fisherman that was testing out the waters.  If I’m not mistaken, on the other side of the river is Milford, Connecticut.  The sun was at my back when I took this and just about to do down, so the light was really nice and had that golden color to it.

Unfortunately for the poor fisherman, I think it was a little too windy for fly fishing – shortly after this photo, I saw him heading back to the shore.
