Mute Swan at Sunset

This entry is part 2 of 3 in the series Bluff Point State Park

Mute Swan at Sunset - Bluff Point State Park

A Mute Swan in the setting sun

In my visit to Bluff Point State Park in Groton Connecticut, this Mute Swan (Cygnus olor) was gliding along in the Poquonnock River with it’s mate.  There’s a little lens flare, but I think it actually adds a little to the photo.

The trail I was following goes from the parking area to the bluffs that overlook Long Island Sound.  It’s a very picturesque walk along the shores of the Poquonnock River and you’re rewarded with a beautiful vista at the bluffs.
