Fly Fisherman in the Housatonic River

This entry is part 5 of 6 in the series Housatonic River

Fly Fisherman in Housatonic River, Sharon Connecticut

Fly Fisherman in the Housatonic River

This photo of a fly fisherman in the Housatonic River was taken either in or very close to Housatonic Meadows State Park (I’m not exactly sure where the boundary is located).  I’ve not fished in the Housatonic River yet, but I believe they catch trout and small mouth bass here.  If you are interested in learning more about fly fishing in this part of Connecticut, check out the Housatonic Fly Fisherman’s Assoiation.

This is a very beautiful area and in the summer, there are many canoeist, tubist, and kayakers on the river.  There are several rapids, so make sure you are familar with the river before fishing or boating here.
