Dark-Eyed Junco in the Snow

Dark-Eyed Junco (Junco hyemalis) in the snow

Last Sunday after the freak October snow storm, I photographed some birds outside around my bird feeder.  This little guy, a Dark-Eyed Junco (Junco hyemalis), was kind enough to do a little posing for me.  The birds must have been famished after the storm because they were attacking the bird feeder.  All of the snow that is in this photo is almost gone now, but I’m betting that there will be plenty more where that came from this winter.
