Waterfall at Indian Wells State Park, October 2011

There are some photos on this blog of the waterfall at Indian Wells State Park in Shelton, Connecticut, but I thought they could be better, especially since I’m now using Nik Software’s Color Efex 4.0 in post-processing.  So, yesterday I was driving past the park and decided to stop and take a few shots.  It was a great time of day, right about sunset which allowed me to get these long duration shots without using a filter.  I have some more of Indian Hole Brook that came out well that will be in another post.

Interesting note on the way in, I heard a couple of birds of prey, I’m guessing either hawks or eagles.  I could hear the general direction they were calling from, but for some reason I just couldn’t spot them.  Right about when I was ready to give up, they flew away and I realized they were right in front of me about 100 feet up in a tree.  You know the old saying “If they had been snakes, they would have bit me”.  Unfortunately, they flew quickly past some trees, so I was not able to identify them.

By the way, we are still getting snow here.  The Weather Channel is now saying up to a foot in my area – and it’s not even November yet!
