Autumn View from Overlook at Webb Mountain Park

This entry is part 4 of 6 in the series Housatonic River

This afternoon, I drove to Webb Mountain Park in Monroe, Connecticut and hiked up to the scenic overlook, aka “Goat Rock”.  If you park at campground site number 2, it’s a very short hike to the overlook.  Unfortunately, I think the gates are closed after November 1st until Memorial Day (I could be off on the dates, so check the Webb Mountain Website before you visit).  If you visit at a time of year when the gates are closed, there is a parking lot by the gates and you can still hike up to “Goat Rock”.

Believe it or not, tomorrow the weather forecast is for snow here in Connecticut.  Since the snow is starting so early this year, we could be in for another “interesting” winter.  I was hoping to do quite a bit of photography this weekend;  it could either be great with a little snow on the ground or a total washout – we’ll see.

By the way, the body of water in the photographs is the Housatonic River.  Hope you enjoy the photos!
