Audubon Center at Bent of the River

The Audubon Center at Bent of the River (I’ve checked a couple of times and it is “Bent”, not “Bend”) is a very nice tract of 660 acres in Southbury, Connecticut owned by the National Audubon Society.  I was driving in the area and just happened upon the sign for the Center and decided to stop.  I’m really glad I did because this is one of my new favorite places to hike in Connecticut.  It has several very easy trails and lots of wildlife.  If I had taken my 80-400 mm lens and tripod, I could have gotten some great shots of ducks and other bird species along the way (I did get some shots of a snake, which was really cool and will be in a seperate post).  They also seem to have a very active program schedule for kids and adults.  Definitely an area I would like to return to often and highly recommended.
