Deer Fawn Browsing at the Edge of Woods

A few weeks ago, I looked out my window and saw this fawn and her mother browsing at the edge of the woods.  It’s been a tough winter here and at the time there wasn’t much green, so I’m sure they were really hungry.  Luckily, it’s started to green up a little here in Connecticut, so they probably have more to eat.

I see quite a few animals in my yard and the woods, including foxes, coyotes, turkeys, raccoons, squirrels, bats, and all sorts of birds (including ducks and a quail).  The only thing I haven’t seen yet is a bear (knock on wood) or a moose.  However, many years ago, I saw a bear in Monroe, Connecticut while hiking (I was hiking, he was running – in the other direction, thank goodness).
