Winter in Webb Mountain Park

Webb Mountain Park is owned by the town of Monroe, Connecticut.  It’s unusual for a town park because it is very isolated and has fantastic trails.  One of the Connecticut Blue Dot trails crosses it as well as a number of other trails.  Camping is also permitted here – check out the Webb Mountain Park website for more information.

These photos were taken in January of 2011 after one of the many snowfalls we’ve had this year.  Luckily, the snow wasn’t too deep yet, so walking was still relatively easy;  if the snow were any deeper I would need the snowshoes.  I don’t think this stream has a name, but I’m going to continue to check on that.

This is a great little park, especially for a town park.  I’ve hiked many of the trails and the overlook of the Housatonic River is fantastic.  This spring, I plan to hike to the overlook and take some photos for posting here.
